Braintree medical marijuana dispensary to be discussed on Wednesday

BRAINTREE – A second meeting on a proposed medical marijuana store will be held at 7 p.m. Wednesday at town hall, 1 John F. Kennedy Memorial Drive.

Native Sun Wellness has proposed opening the store  at 120 Granite St., the former Pier 1 Imports store. The company operates a recreational marijuana store  in Hudson and has a second one planned in North Attleboro.

At a meeting last month attended by a dozen residents, company officials said about half of the store will be devoted to the retail operation and the remainder would be used for cultivation. They said the business would have strict security in place and no marijuana use would be allowed on the property.

Native Sun would pay the town 3% of gross revenues.
