Possession of Marijuana & Traffic Related Offense
West Earl Township, Pa – A Manheim Township woman was taken into custody after being in possession of marijuana when she was not privileged or licensed to be so.
August 13, 2021 at approximately 9:30PM Officer Byrnes was conducting a traffic detail at the intersection of Center Square Road and N. Maple Avenue. Officer Byrnes observed a Toyota Camry fail to stop for a properly posted stop sign.
Officer Byrnes conducted a traffic stop on the vehicle in the 100 block of Center Square Rd. Gabrielle Theros (23YOA) was identified as the driver. As Officer Byrnes was speaking with Theros, Officer Byrnes smelled an odor of marijuana coming from inside the vehicle. Theros was forthcoming and handed over a half-burnt marijuana blunt. A search of the vehicle by officers resulted in the seizure of an additional quantity of marijuana.
Theros was arrested and transported back to WEPD’s station from processing. Theros was fingerprinted and photographed then released from WEPD’s custody.
Officer Byrnes filed charged of (1) count Possession of Marijuana (M), and (1) count of Duties at a Stop Sign (S). Theros will be arraigned on the charges at a later date and time in front of Magisterial District Judge, Jonathan Heisse.
The public and media are reminded that all criminal charges are merely accusations and all subjects are innocent until proven guilty.
