More than 5,000 cannabis plants seized in Pembroke bust


Four men were released from custody and are scheduled to attend the Ontario Court of Justice in Pembroke on April 6.

Four men were arrested and more than 5,000 cannabis plants seized following a police raid in Pembroke on Wednesday.

Members of the Ontario Provincial Police’s Provincial Joint Forces Cannabis Enforcement Team and other officers also seized growing and processing equipment from a commercial building in the 900 block of Mackay Street.

The four men between the ages of 42 and 63 — two from Markham, one from Scarborough and the other of no fixed address — were charged with cultivating, propagating or harvesting any cannabis plant at a place that was not their dwelling house. They were released from custody and are scheduled to attend the Ontario Court of Justice in Pembroke on April 6.
