Police were called to reports of a break-in at a property and found an operational cannabis factory in full swing.
Officers responding to the incident found an insecure property in Patricia Avenue, Yardley Wood, at about 11.40pm last night.
And up to 70 plants of developed growth were discovered in various rooms inside the home. No arrests were made, West Midlands Police said.
Police confirmed the incident to BirminghamLive. A spokesperson said: “Called at 23.42 last night. Approx 70 plants at Patricia Ave, Birmingham, no arrests.”
Taking to Twitter, the Force Response team posted earlier: “A busy shift #CTeamBournville officers responded to a break in progress.
“On arrival officers found an insecure property and rooms full of Cannabis. Log 4609 refers. NM.”
Reacting to the news, one user wrote on social media: “I doubt you were expecting that.”
Offenders could be sentenced for up to two years for possession of the Class B drug or five years for an intent to supply.
