Another record-breaking month for adult-use marijuana sales in Illinois


(WEEK) — Adult-use marijuana sales in Illinois had another record-breaking month since the product became legal in January.

Total sales for the month of September came in at $67,648,362.14, about a $3.6 million increase over August sales, according to the Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation.

In-state residents contributed to over $49.7 million of those sales, while out-of-state customers spent more than $17.8 million.

In all, 1,426,166 items were sold in September.
