Molson Coors launching C.B.D.-infused water | 2019-10-24

TORONTO — Truss Beverage Co., a joint venture between Molson Coors and cannabis producer Hexo Corp., is teaming up with Flow Glow Beverages Inc. to launch C.B.D.-infused water in Canada. The product, which hits shelves in December, will be the first of six cannabis beverage brands in Truss’s portfolio.

Flow Glow will be available in Goji+Grapefruit and Raspberry+Lemon flavors, each containing 10 mg of C.B.D.

“We know C.B.D. products are in high demand in Canada, especially within the growing self-care space,” said Brett Vye, chief executive officer at Truss Beverage Co. “The Truss product portfolio will include a range of products with C.B.D., T.H.C. or both.”

The announcement follows Canada’s decision to allow some cannabis-infused products to be sold in stores beginning in December.

Molson Coors isn’t the only alcohol company seeking first-mover status. AB InBev, through its $100 million joint venture with cannabis producer Tilray, plans to launch non-alcoholic, C.B.D.-infused beverages by the end of the year. Corona maker Constellation Brands also is betting big on cannabis. The company invested $5 billion for a 38% stake in Canopy, Canada’s largest cannabis company, with plans to introduce a line of infused drinks and other products.
